Elle a été fondée en 1986&nbsp;par le professeur Peter Sheu à Kaohsiung, une grande ville portuaire du sud-ouest de l'île de Taïwan. En 22 ans d'existence, cet ensemble vocal a acquis une qualité remarquable. Il a sillonné le monde: du Japon (Osaka) aux Etats-Unis (New-York), de l'Europe de l'Est à l'Espagne, en passant par Rome (la chorale a chanté pour le pape Jean-Paul II en 1994 et 1999), l'Australie (Sydney), la Corée du Sud (Séoul), la Chine continentale (Shangaï, Nankin) et la France (Lyon, La Chaise-Dieu, Le Puy-en-Velay). En juillet 2006, les petits chanteurs y furent accueillis, un mois avant sa mort, par le Père Marie-Dominique Philippe, fondateur des "<em>petits gris</em>", la Communauté Saint-Jean, qui suscite leur tournée chez nous durant cet été 2008.
